New Shoes

I’ve recently bought two pairs of suede monkstraps.
A pair of KG by Kurt Geiger Cadfael tan double monkstraps, pictured above and below.

As well as a pair of Fly London Cosh sand single buckle monks.

I had to buy them online because I just could find them anywhere and I haven’t had the opportunity of visiting London recently. But the surprise came when I received the shoes. They were both made in Portugal.

My question is: why can’t I buy these products in Portugal? Especially since Fly London is a Portuguese brand.

You would say that it’s all a marketing and branding thing. I agree, but it’s also a goddamn ridiculous thing.

How can you launch and project Portuguese fashion/design if you don’t start with your home market? Look at all the major Italian and Spanish brands. They started at home first and then proceeded to take over the fashion world.
By the way, the shoes are great. Beautiful and very confortable.
